France: Revitalization and progress through Global Country of World Peace programmes

On 27 July, the continuing Guru Purnima Assembly in MERU, Holland, featured progress and achievements in implementing Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's programmes in France.

Raja Michael Dillbeck, Raja of Invincible France for the Global Country of World Peace, presented notable progress within the nation over the past year.*

'This has been a year of great coherence and revitalization in France,' Raja Michael began. One of the most notable events was the 50th anniversary celebration of Maharishi's first visit to the nation—and to continental Europe—in April 1960. This celebration was organized by Teachers of the Transcendental Meditation Programme in the country, and took place in Lille, France.

Coinciding with this celebration, Raja Michael said, was a press conference held by Dr David Lynch, who addressed the topic of Consciousness-Based Education for France. Just days before, a commission in France had addressed the issue of escalating violence within the nation's schools, which provided an opportunity for Dr Lynch to put forward Transcendental Meditation as a solution. The David Lynch Foundation has offered to launch a pilot programme to demonstrate this effect, instructing 5,000 students in 10 schools in France. 'The conference made a big impact throughout the nation, attracting widespread attention and interest,' remarked Raja Michael.

Also moving forward in France is a project to build a Peace Colony** near the country's Brahmasthan (geographic centre). The initiative to build this community, which was encouraged by Maharishi in 2007 as the nation's means to achieve invincibility, will consist of 33 buildings including houses, apartments, a Maharishi Peace Palace, and two Yogic Flying halls.

Finally, Raja Michael said that 'the momentum of this past year in France has been enlivened by a series of National Yagya performances; this has been a key element to the vitality and progress we've been seeing.'
