Assembly in Lille, France commemorates Maharishi's first visit to the country

In commemoration of the 50th anniversary of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's first visit to France, many people gathered just outside the city of Lille from 17 to 18 April for a weekend-long celebration, which included group practice of the Transcendental Meditation and Transcendental Meditation Sidhi Programmes.

The event was attended by 70 Teachers and practitioners of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's programmes, and was organized beautifully by members and leaders of the Global Country of World Peace, including National Director of France Dr Dominique Lemoine. 'A special feature of the event was that the couple who first hosted Maharishi in his 1960 visit to Lille were in attendance, and told beautiful stories of their experiences with him,' added Raja Michael Dillbeck, Raja of Invincible France.

The assembly was held on a small property in the countryside, where two buildings had been restored in order to accommodate large groups of Yogic Flyers.

In addition to group practice of Maharishi's programmes, assembly guests enjoyed presentations from Raja Michael, Dr Susie Dillbeck, and Dr David Lynch, as well as a Maharishi Gandharva Veda concert.

Also speaking on Maharishi Global Family Chat, Dr Lemoine reported that a TV production company came to the assembly, in part to interview Dr David Lynch. He said that the producers were impressed by the peaceful and harmonious quality of the celebration, and by the knowledge being presented.

Dr Lemoine ended by reiterating that the assembly was a wonderful experience for all in attendance, and that it also provided an occasion to raise awareness for Maharishi's programmes through the media.
