A grand event has been unfolding in the past month across the North American continent: the 'New Paradigm' tour by leading scientists, artists, and business leaders, which has been inspiring audiences as it progresses through 10 major cities from the West Coast to the East Coast.

The tour began in San Diego and San Francisco, California in early April, delivering a series of cutting-edge presentations entitled 'A New Paradigm: Veda, Consciousness, the Ramayana, and the Self'.

In each venue, the event has been exploring the 'meeting point of science and spirituality' through three main themes:
∙ the sounds of the Veda are blueprints that structure the physiology on every level;
∙ the applications of this discovery on the collective level of society through large peace-creating groups of Maharishi Vedic Pandits; and
∙ the profound correlation between the characters, details, and happenings of the Ramayana with every part of the human physiology—described in Ramayan in Human Physiology, the new book by Tony Nader, MD, PhD, which is being released on the tour.

Please see these two related articles for an in-depth description of the tour presentations—including speakers, themes, venues, and some of the press coverage so far:

Howard Chancellor, PhD, a researcher in human potential who is the host of the tour, recently explained some of the background of how it developed:

Dr Nader brought out his new book, Ramayan in Human Physiology, at the beginning of this year, and in early January gave a course based on the book in MERU, Holland for several hundred people, which was a great success.

The tour evolved out of Dr Nader's desire to make this important knowledge more widely available. As the idea of a North American tour developed, it became apparent that the presentations would have appeal not only among those who already practise Transcendental Meditation, but also especially among the large Indo-American and Indo-Canadian community—people who are already familiar with the Veda and the Ramayana from their own cultural tradition.

This also provided a context in which to present other programmes of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, including the Transcendental Meditation Programme, and the initiative to create world peace through large groups of Maharishi Vedic Pandits in Maharishi Vedic City, Iowa, USA and in the centre of India.

The tour features three different kinds of events, Dr Chancellor explained:
∙ public events about the 'New Paradigm' for members of the Indo-American and Indo-Canadian community
∙ meetings with Indian physicians
∙ a three-hour introductory seminar with Dr Nader, focused entirely on the knowledge of the Ramayana in Human Physiology.

The seminar, although shorter than the first one Dr Nader gave in MERU, Dr Chancellor explained, 'nevertheless provides a deep and beautiful opportunity . . . to understand the knowledge at the basis of this discovery'. The seminar is being held in every city except Boston.

The presentations also include a video of 1,000 Vedic Pandits in Maharishi Vedic City, Iowa chanting the Veda.

The tour schedule includes visits to San Diego; San Francisco; Vancouver; Fairfield, Iowa; Chicago; Toronto; Montreal; Boston; New York; and Washington, DC.

By the time the tour is finished, there will have been about 35 different events in all, Dr Chancellor said, reaching many people and 'creating a real wave of knowledge. This is why Dr Nader really wanted to do the tour,' he said: Aside from its immediate impact in telling a wider audience about the practical benefits of Maharishi's programmes, the wave of knowledge being generated by the tour and spreading throughout North America would itself awaken a deeper level of interest and receptivity in the collective consciousness.

Global Good News will continue to report on the New Paradigm tour, including more about the knowledge of 'Veda, Consciousness, and the Ramayana' presented by Dr Nader; the enthusiastic response among the Indian community, especially among medical doctors; comments from participants in the Ramayan in Human Physiology seminars; and updates from several cities en route across North America.
