Expansion of training and campuses for groups of peace-creating Maharishi Vedic Pandits was of central importance this past year for the organizations of the Global Country of World Peace in India, and expansion plans are continuing in 2011.

A delegation from Canada toured India recently to help establish 8,000 Vedic Pandits at the Global Capital of World Peace in the Brahmasthan* (geographical centre) of the country, as well as to help establish one of 48 Brahmanand Saraswati Nagars.** 'Their visit was very fruitful', said Dr Girish Varma, Director-General of the Global Capital of World Peace.***

The programme to offer training to young Vedic Pandits—through age 14—'while they are staying with their parents,' has been revitalized this year, he said, speaking during the global 12 January celebrations.

At the end of 2010, Dr Varma and the Administrator of India for the Global Country held a series of meetings with the Vedic Pandits, teachers, administrators, and staff at the Brahmasthan. During the current academic year, the curriculum of Maharishi Vedic University was introduced and now all the Vedic Pandits are enrolled in the university at various levels.

The campus looks 'green and fresh', Dr Varma commented, thanks to over 5,000 fruit trees and decorative plants that have been flourishing there since they were planted this summer.

Continuing construction will allow completion of residences for an additional 300 to 400 Vedic Pandits in the next few months.

Construction of a campus for international leaders and guests is also progressing. 'We hope by the first week of April we will be able to invite our international guests to visit and enjoy the peaceful, heavenly atmosphere of the Brahmasthan,' he said.

Dr Varma concluded with the wish that in the coming year, 2011, a 'new sunshine will bless our dear world family.'

*The Brahmasthan was established as the Global Capital of Raam Raj* by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, Founder of the Global Country of World Peace, in January 2008.

**Brahmanand Saraswati Nagar: Maharishi perfected the organization of his global Administration through Silence, by establishing an administrative structure centered around the 12 sacred Jyotir Linga in India—each of the 12 Linga associated with four key cities of India. Each city will have a special administrative locale known as the Brahmanand Saraswati Nagar, in honour of Maharishi's Master—Shri Guru Dev, His Divinity Brahmanand Saraswati, Jagatguru Shankaracharya of Jyotir Math, Himalayas. Each of these 48 cities also maintains a relationship with four countries of the world. Thus the eternal silence of the Veda, total Natural Law, will be radiating from India, the Land of the Veda, to uphold the invincibility of 192 countries.

***Dr Varma is also National Director of the Global Country of World Peace in India, Chairman of the 148 Maharishi Vidya Mandir Schools Group, and President of Maharishi Institutes of Management and Information Technology, in India.
