UK: Maharishi European Sidhaland, a permanent group creating coherence for Europe

Maharishi European Sidhaland in Skelmersdale, Lancashire, UK, celebrated its 30th anniversary at the end of August. Dr Peter Warburton, Administrator of the United Kingdom for the Global Country of World Peace, spoke about the history of the community and its founding by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi in 1980. Dr Warburton and Dr Bevan Morris, Prime Minister of the Global Country, also gave profound presentations on the Total Knowledge of Natural Law, the knowledge and technologies of Maharishi's Vedic Science.

Dr Warburton began by explaining that Maharishi first started teaching Transcendental Meditation in 1957 in South India. In 1976, after teaching the technique all over the world during many global tours, Maharishi brought out the advanced Transcendental Meditation Sidhi Programme, including Yogic Flying. In 1978 Maharishi applied this technology through his World Peace Project, sending coherence-creating groups of Yogic Flyers to calm down the five most troubled areas of the world.

Following the Ideal Society Campaign* in 1978, and again with Maharishi's World Peace Project, Dr Warburton said, it was discovered that the square root of 1% of the population of an area practising Yogic Flying together can transform the trends of a whole society, a whole nation, and ultimately, with a large enough group, the whole world.

Maharishi therefore focussed on creating permanent groups of Yogic Flyers in countries around the world, to create coherence in collective consciousness as the basis of invincibility for the nation and peace for the world. He also worked towards creating a large group of 8,000 Yogic Flyers—the square root of 1% of the population of the whole world—practising together.

This was the inspiration, Dr Warburton said, for establishing a permanent group of Yogic Flyers in the United Kingdom—Maharishi European Sidhaland, located in Lancashire in what was then the new town of Skelmersdale.

'It is a great upliftment and joy to be with so many Teachers and practitioners of Transcendental Meditation and the Transcendental Meditation Sidhi programme to celebrate 30th anniversary of this very significant achievement—the maintainance of a coherence-creating group supporting national invincibility day in day out, every morning and evening,' Dr Warburton said, inaugurating the celebration. It was held in Skelmersdale's Golden Dome, the special purpose-built facility for group practice of Yogic Flying.

He added that this weekend of celebration also offered the opportunity 'to rededicate ourselves to the purpose of this community'.
