World news indicating rising coherence in collective consciousness

'Recent news from around the world indicates rising world consciousness and life increasingly in harmony with Natural Law,' commented Dr Peter Swan, Minister of Communication of the Global Country of World Peace, recently on the Maharishi Channel.

Large groups of Yogic Flyers in the Invincible America Assembly, and in schools and the military in Latin America; as well as Maharishi Vedic Pandits in India 'are creating a powerful wave of coherence in collective consciousness that is sweeping the world onto a higher quality of life,' he said.

Heavy rains control forest fires
Dr Swan said that two days before, Raja Bjarne Landsfeldt, Raja (Administrator) of Invincible Russia for the Global Country of World Peace, reported on the initiative in the nation of playing the Maharishi Gandharva Veda Rain Melody and encouraging extended group practice of Transcendental Meditation, the Transcendental Meditation Sidhi Programme and Yogic Flying to bring relief from the fires and smoke hanging over Moscow. Four days after these programmes started, Dr Landsfeldt reported, the rains were continuing to clear the smoke and fires. The BBC reported that Russia's 'record-breaking heat wave looks set to come to a dramatic end, with a severe storm now heading for Moscow after battering St Petersburg'. As temperatures cooled in Moscow, 'fires that have raged across western Russia are being brought under control', the BBC reported.

Agriculture in greater accord with Natural Law:
Dr Swan highlighted recent news, reported by Reuters, about the US federal judge who 'banned the planting of genetically modified sugar beets engineered by Monsanto Co, in a ruling that marks a major setback for the biotech giant'; the same judge had ruled last year that the US Department of Agriculture 'had approved Monsanto's genetically modified sugar beets without adequate environmental study'.

Dr Swan also noted positive agriculture news from India, where two states are starting to convert many hectares of land to organic agriculture—Sikkim over the next five years, and Kerala over the next ten. In Sikkim, farms are planned to be entirely organic by 2015.
