'It's not a religion. It's not against any religion, it's not mumbo-jumbo. It truly does transform life,' Lynch is quoted as saying in the ABC News report. Watch happiness in the hallways, in the classroom, watch creativity flow more and more, watch that heavy weight that we are living under gently lift away.'

Experts Fred Travis, director of the Center for Brain, Consciousness, and Cognition at Maharishi University of Management and neurologist Gary Kaplan demonstrated how coherence in brainwave activity increases through Transcendental Meditation.

According to Kaplan, 'such ''coherence'' will bring happiness, success—even world peace,' ABC News reports.

'What we notice is that this electrical activity becomes more harmonious or coherent between left and right hemispheres,' the report quotes Kaplan as saying. 'There have been studies that have documented that the TM technique, when practiced in large groups, seems to have some effect on society in general, whether it's in war-torn areas where people are sitting to meditate together, or in high-crime areas that the trends reverse when you have larger groups meditating together.'

Many homes in Fairfield and Maharishi Vedic City are built according to principles of Maharishi Vedic Architecture. Leading Vedic Architect Jon Lipman explains in the report that through such aspects of Vedic Architecture as proper orientation and placement, 'families find that their lives are improved, that there's greater family harmony, that there is greater financial success, there's greater happiness.'

Long-time community member Meg Vigmostad says of her family's Vedic home: 'It feels harmonious, it feels orderly, there's a lot of silence here that was definitely not in our other house that we owned.'

ABC News also reports on the Ayur-Veda Health Spa in Vedic City, describing it as 'the leading spa of its kind in the country'.

Residents of the community also enjoy healthy organic food, the report states.

'It is a lot to digest—but then you don't really have to. The TM followers . . . are not out to recruit you. They just want you to know the option is there,' ABC News reports.

'We really have all we need here,' ABC News quotes Meg Vigmostad as saying. 'You can go to a city anytime. But this is sort of a haven, you know? And it's a place of comfort, and community.'
