by Global Good News staff writer

20 November 2008
On 15 November on the Maharishi Global Family Chat, Dr Taddy Blecher, national Director of Education and Director of Finance and Planning of the Global Country of World Peace in South Africa, paid tribute to the tremendous achievements of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi and discussed current initiatives which are continuing to structure the future destiny of peace and invincibility for the country.
Please see Part I and Part II of this article, which featured the presentation by Dr Richard Peycke, National Director of the Global Country of World Peace in South Africa, giving highlights of major events which have reshaped the history of the country through Maharishi's coherence-creating programmes.
Dr Peycke's colleague Dr Taddy Blecher is regarded as a highly influential social entrepreneur who co-founded South Africa's first free tertiary institute to educate the country's financially disadvantaged. He has been recognized as one of 100 young leaders around the world, making an exceptional contribution toward 'making a better world'.
Dr Blecher recalled the intense focus and attention which Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, Founder of the Global Country of World Peace, provided on projects for South Africa almost daily between July and December 2007. 'Maharishi inspired everything good that has come up in our country', Dr Blecher said.
He outlined several initiatives in progress, and provided websites for more information. The success of all these initiatives depends on the daily practice of Maharishi's Transcendental Meditation and Transcendental Meditation Sidhi Programme, including Yogic Flying, by large groups. Included were:
Invincible South Africa project www.invinciblesouthafrica.org The objective is to create a prevailing climate of productivity and coherence in which conflict and violence have no place; and to achieve stable and balanced economic growth, enhanced employment levels, and reduction of poverty. This initiative includes a large-scale media campaign featuring radio and television interviews, newspaper articles, trade fair displays, and presentations to all sectors of society. An upcoming 45-minute television documentary is also planned.
Consciousness-Based Education www.cbesa.org and www.maharishischool.sa.org The objective is to teach Transcendental Meditation and the Transcendental Meditation Sidhi Programme to one million students. (Dr Blecher commented that South Africa has some of the most violent schools in the world and very low pass rates. He reported considerable rising interest in Consciousness-Based Education programmes in the school system.) The first programme is set to begin in 2009 on a part-time basis.
Maharishi Invincibility School of Management www.mum.edu/southafrica The objective is to train 1,000 part-time MBA students in several sites in all major cities in South Africa, working under the guidance of Maharishi University of Management in America. It was Maharishi's intention that these students become skilled leaders for their country and the world.
Global Good News will feature the conclusion of Dr Blecher's presentation, in which he described the new initiatives and objectives of the Maharishi Invincibility Institute and Ezemvelo Nature Reserve, in the coming days.
