Leaders and members of the Global Country of World Peace have assembled in MERU, the Netherlands, for the annual global Guru Purnima Celebrations which began on 14 July. Guru Purnima is a time to reflect on the success of the past year, announce plans, and honour the eternal Vedic Tradition—the source of the knowledge and programmes of Maharishi's Vedic Science that are transforming life on earth from ignorance and suffering to peace, prosperity, and happiness—enlightenment for every individual and invincibility for every nation.

The 11-day event is being celebrated at MERU and also as part of the Invincible America Assembly in Fairfield and Maharishi Vedic City, Iowa, USA. The highlight will be the grand global celebration on the full moon day of Guru Purnima, 18 July.

Inaugurating the celebrations in MERU, Maharaja Adhiraja Raja Raam, first ruler of the Global Country of World Peace, proclaimed this historic event as a celebration of the achievements of His Holiness Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, Founder of the Global Country of World Peace and his world-wide Transcendental Meditation organization.

Expressing the profound appreciation of the entire assembly, Dr Antonio Bartolome, Raja (Administrator) of Spain for the Global Country of World Peace, said, 'We are so thankful to Maharishi for such complete and perfect knowledge. Maharishi's programmes are creating nothing less than Heaven on Earth.'

In reviewing Maharishi's Global Achievements, several Rajas made presentations that will be featured in subsequent Global Good News reports.

As part of this special Guru Purnima celebration, the Global Mother Divine Organization is hosting programmes in MERU and at the Invincible America Assembly, for ladies who practise the Transcendental Meditation and Transcendental Meditation Sidhi Programme, giving an overview of the unique programmes soon to be available to the mothers of the world through this organization.
