The prominent Hindi newspaper, Hindustan, published a report which quoted Maharishi Mahesh Yogi as saying, with reference to the United Kingdom, that Vedic technologies should not be imparted to a nation which is intent upon destroying the world. Maharishi's concern with the United Kingdom for being the 'United State's lackey in heinous designs', has also attacted media attention in India.

The article said that Maharishi, known worldwide as the founder of the Transcendental Meditation Programme (TM), is not only annoyed with British Prime Minister Tony Blair but is also unhappy with the people of UK, who failed to to oust Blair when they had a chance.

Maharishi said that the 'nectar of TM should not be given to a scorpion country'. The paper quoted Jeffery Clements, the head of Maharishi's organization in UK, as saying that the spiritual leader asked his followers to withdraw from Britain as it was 'a waste of time to give Vedic learning to a society full poison'.
