On 24 May 2010 Ottawa Natural Magazine reported: Successful Canadian professionals in diverse fields say Transcendental Meditation (TM) brings them peace, happiness, mental clarity, and good health. It is a joy for Global Good News service to feature this news, which indicates the success of the life-supporting programmes Maharishi has designed to bring fulfilment to the field of health.

Roger Kent co-founded Onix, an IT company in Ottawa, Ontario. For 20 years he has been co-owner of the firm.

'My favorite thing about TM is sitting comfortably and closing my eyes, and that feeling of taking an elevator ride, very fast, inside—this quick descent into a peaceful, calm, blissful place. And then after, you come out into activity and you're more centered, more balanced, and generally happier about existence,' Mr Kent is quoted in the article.

People who practise the Transcendental Meditation Programme also 'find significant health benefits', the article reports.

After a recent check-up which revealed exceptionally good health, Mr Kent says his doctor told him, ' ''Whatever you're doing, keep on doing it!'' I put that down to meditating regularly,' Mr Kent tells Ottawa Natural Magazine. 'I look at my life, and that's the only thing that's different from other people that I know.'

Professional editor Janet Shorten was also quoted in the Ottawa Natural Magazine article. She says that Transcendental Meditation helped her recover 'when I was suffering burnout after teaching high school. . . . It's part of my daily routine now; I look forward to this period of restful clarity every day. After meditating, I feel more at home in my skin, my mind is sharper, and I feel more myself.'

Sylvia Larrass has coached more than a thousand people in the field of public speaking—including high-level executives. She says that the silence and peace she gains through Transcendental Meditation are with her 'throughout the day' and allow her to 'make decisions that are not based on fear, but based on wisdom, the wisdom of being in the moment'.

The benefits of Transcendental Meditation have been documented by extensive scientific research, says long-time Transcendental Meditation Teacher Mary Glasser. Studies have been published in such journals as The American Psychologist and the Journal of Psychosomatic Medicine, the article reports.
