On 12 May 2005 Skagit Valley Herald reported: 'Research has shown that mental relaxation techniques such as Transcendental Meditation (TM) can reduce stress and help lower blood pressure. Might this allow people to live longer?' The Skagit Valley Herald posed this question in a column on new findings in the field of health. It is a joy for Global Good News service to feature this news, which indicates the success of the life-supporting programmes Maharishi has designed to bring fulfilment to the field of health.

The article was referring to a long-term, first-of-its-kind study recently published in the American Journal of Cardiology in which researchers assigned 202 people with high blood pressure to learn the TM programme, to take health education classes, or to learn other kinds of relaxation methods.

The TM group saw almost a 30 per cent decrease in deaths from cardiovascular disease and 23 per cent few deaths overall. This was the best outcome of all the groups.

Every day Global Good News documents the rise of a better quality of life dawning in the world and highlights the need for introducing Natural Law based—Total Knowledge based—programmes to bring the support of Nature to every individual, raise the quality of life of every society, and create a lasting state of world peace.
