Raja Dr John Fagan, a Raja of the Global Country of World Peace with Global Responsibility for Food Purity and Safety and for Healthy Invincibility, recently reported on achievements in this area.
Please see Part I of this article.
Raja Fagan emphasized that food should not only be free from all contamination, but it should support the full development of higher states of consciousness, life in enlightenment.
The agricultural programmes of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi are designed to support every aspect of the life of the farmer and farming community—through the Transcendental Meditation Programme, ideal Maharishi Vedic Architecture housing, and ideal Consciousness-Based Education—as well as supporting the environment through sustainable, organic agriculture.
The most ideal agriculture is Maharishi Vedic Organic Agriculture, Raja Fagan said, but until it is fully implemented, steps are being taken so that farmers can enjoy a better quality of life and healthier farming practices, and consumers can enjoy healthy, nourishing food.
About 10,000 farmers are enjoying more sustainable agricultural practices through initiatives of the Global Country of World Peace, Raja Fagan said. In the future, these farmers and others will have the opportunity to enjoy all the programmes of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi.
Forty to fifty per cent of greenhouse gases causing climate change have been linked to the food production sector, Raja Fagan said. Food production uses more petroleum than any other sector, including the jet planes, automobiles, trucks, boats, etc. of the travel sector. So making positive changes in the production of food creates a significant positive impact on the world.
