Turkey: University inspired to offer Transcendental Meditation to thousands of students

Leaders of a large university in Turkey say they want to implement Consciousness-Based Education and offer the Transcendental Meditation Programme to at least 2,000 students.

Dr Ashley Deans,* Ambassador of the Global Country of World Peace for Consciousness-Based Education, inspired a wave of interest among students, teachers, and education leaders during his recent visit to that nation.

Dr Deans and Raja Paul Potter, Raja of Invincible Turkey for the Global Country of World Peace, spoke to 800 students at the university. The dean, vice dean, and director of the university all came to the talk and sat in the front row.

The students were riveted by the talk. One of the local Teachers of the Transcendental Meditation Programme 'said she has never seen students sit with such attention,' Dr Deans commented.** 'At the end they burst into applause.'

After the lecture, the deans and director said they would like to start the programme with 2,000 of their 8,000 students.

Planning is underway for a collaboration with Maharishi University of Management in Fairfield, Iowa, USA, as well as a research study on the programme in this school.

Dr Deans commented that a group of 2,000 Yogic Flyers could create invincibility not only for Turkey, but also for Syria, Israel, Lebanon, Iran, and Iraq. Such a group would be 'a huge breakthrough for the world', he said.
