Honouring Dr David Lynch on behalf of the youth of Latin America

The David Lynch Foundation for Consciousness-Based Education and World Peace has been sponsoring many thousands of young students to learn the Transcendental Meditation Programme around the world, with especially large numbers learning in many countries of Latin America.

On 20 January, during a celebration* honouring Dr David Lynch, Raja Jose Luis Alvarez, Raja of Latin America for the Global Country of World Peace, thanked Dr Lynch for all that he has done for the youth of Latin America.

'You have the deepest love for all the children everywhere in the world,' Raja Luis said. He said that when Dr Lynch visited Brazil in 2009, he created joy both for the children of the country, and also for government leaders he spoke to about Consciousness-Based Education.

Many thousands of students and educators have begun the Transcendental Meditation Programme thanks to the David Lynch Foundation. 'It really is the beginning of the world that Maharishi Mahesh Yogi told us was going to happen—an invincible world, a world of enlightenment,' Raja Luis said.

Dr Robert Roth, Vice President of the David Lynch Foundation and National Director of Expansion for the Global Country of World Peace in the United States, also spoke at the 20 January celebration. He thanked Dr Lynch on behalf of homeless men in New York City; American Indian children and elders; members of the military returning from Afghanistan with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD); and children around the world—all of whom have learnt Transcendental Meditation through the generous support of the David Lynch Foundation.

'Thank you for putting the goodness of your name—and more than that, putting yourself on the line to write books, to make films, to travel the world, to do interviews, to answer questions, to sign books day after day, month after month, year after year. . . . You are the Commander-in-Chief of this foundation that is really making this happen,' Dr Roth said.

* The celebration honouring Dr Lynch's work, held by the Global Country of World Peace, was broadcast 20 January on Maharishi Global Family Chat, broadcast daily via Internet webcast on the Maharishi Channel, Channel 3.
