Tour inspires deputy head teacher to introduce Consciousness-Based Education to her school and beyond

A deputy head teacher from northern England was so inspired by a talk given by Dr Fred Travis*, a leading researcher in the area of consciousness and brain development, during his tour** of the country—that she not only wants to introduce Consciousness-Based Education to her school, but says she sees it as the future of education.

Raja Peter Warburton, Raja of Invincible Great Britain for the Global Country of World Peace, presented a letter written by the head teacher expressing her deep appreciation for Dr Travis's lecture and her wish to make the stress-reducing Transcendental Meditation Programme available to students.

'I learned to practise Transcendental Meditation early last year and felt like I had come home,' she said. She then inspired her own two children and almost all of the staff at her school to learn the technique.

She described the success of her school, but said that even young students of only 10 and 11 years old are clearly already dealing with the stress of the modern world. 'As teachers we can feel the stress increasing in these children's lives.'

Addressing filmmaker David Lynch, whose foundation is raising the funds to teach one million at-risk children to meditate, she said, 'I understand that you have a dream. My dream is similar. I believe it [Consciousness-Based Education] is the future for us and for our children, the planet, and future generations.'

She had already wanted to introduce Transcendental Meditation in her school, but after hearing Dr Travis speak she said she is even more inspired to do whatever she can, to offer this to the children in her care and eventually spread it further.
