Visit of Dr Ashley Deans and Dr Fred Travis to Israel generates wide interest in Maharishi's programmes

Dr Alex Kutai, National Director of Invincible Israel for the Global Country of World Peace, recently reported on the visits to Israel of Dr Ashley Deans, Ambassador of the Global Country of World Peace for Consciousness-Based Education and Executive Director of Maharishi School of the Age of Enlightenment; and Dr Fred Travis, Director of the Center for Brain, Consciousness, and Cognition at Maharishi University of Management in Fairfield, Iowa, USA.

During his two-day visit, Dr Ashley Deans met with the director of a university who is very interested in Maharishi's programmes.

Dr Deans also met with a leading education official, who is involved in curriculum in all Israeli schools and also in continuing education for teachers. In their half-hour meeting, Dr Ashley Deans presented an overview of Consciousness-Based Education and the benefits of the Transcendental Meditation Technique for students.

The official listened with great interest, and asked that additional scientific research be sent to her. She also requested a meeting with Dr Fred Travis, who visited Israel for 12 days of presentations shortly after Dr Deans departed.

Dr Travis, a renowned researcher on the beneficial effects of Transcendental Meditation on brain functioning, and their relationship to the development of higher states of consciousness, gave 11 lectures at top universities and research institutes in the nation, Dr Kutai continued. Dr Travis also gave an interview on national television—Channel 1, and three interviews by phone for two top national newspapers and a national radio news programme.

In addition, Dr Travis gave a presentation and live brainwave demonstration—showing increased brainwave coherence through the practice of Transcendental Meditation—to the area's practitioners of Transcendental Meditation and Yogic Flying.
