Consciousness-Based Education in Northeast Vedic America

During the Maharishi Global Family Chat—which is broadcast daily via satellite and over the Internet on Channel 3 of the Maharishi Channel, Dr Kingsley Brooks, Raja (Administrator) of Israel and former Raja of Northeast Vedic America for the Global Country of World Peace, recently reported on growing interest in Consciousness-Based Education in his former domain.

Dr Brooks said that educational consultants in the New England area who place students in boarding schools at the high school level have recently expressed an interest in the Maharishi Academy of Total Knowledge in Antrim, New Hampshire, and in Maharishi School of the Age of Enlightenment in Fairfield, Iowa.

Maharishi Academy is a boarding school for 9th through 12th grade boys, ages 13 through 18; and they hope to have a girls' school campus as well in the future. Dr Brooks said that new pages were added to the website about the school and they have already been viewed by many hundreds of visitors—many of whom explored the site in depth just in the last few months. He also reported that a mailing of brochure/admissions packages on the Academy was recently completed.

Another school, a prominent college preparatory school in the same region, is considering beginning a Consciousness-Based Education programme, Dr Brooks said. They are also interested in sending students to the Maharishi Academy. Further, there is interest in Consciousness-Based Education at another school in a nearby town.

In addition, Dr Brooks reported that the CEO of a major hospital in the area read a news article on the Maharishi Academy of Total Knowledge, drove there, and met with its administrators. Now he is interested in Maharishi's programmes for his hospital. So, Dr Brooks concluded, 'Northeast Vedic America seems to be growing; and great progress is unfolding in all areas.'

During his talk, Dr Brooks also announced some news about Nepal, one of the other eight countries for which he has taken on the responsibility to raise to invincibility. Nepal, he said, is playing a key role in the Computer Science Programme of Maharishi University of Management in Fairfield, Iowa, USA. Fifty Nepalese students joined the programme in just the last few months.
