25 April 2010
On 25 April 2010 DailyMotion.com reported:
In a recent interview during his visit to France, acclaimed filmmaker David Lynch discussed how Transcendental Meditation helps bring out the unique talents and creativity of each individual.
It is a joy for Global Good News service to feature this news, which indicates the success of the life-supporting programmes Maharishi has designed to bring
fulfilment to the field of culture.
Mr Lynch emphasized that Transcendental Meditation is not a religion. It's a technique that you have 'for yourself', that 'makes your life better', he said.
The Transcendental Meditation Programme strengthens individuality and creativity, he continued. 'It feeds my work,' he said, 'and instead of making everybody the same, the differences [blossom]; it makes everybody stronger.'
Mr Lynch elaborated with the analogy of flowers in a garden. Through Transcendental Meditation, a blue flower will become 'more blue and more beautiful. If it's a green flower, it doesn't turn blue when it starts meditating, it stays green. It gets just more beautiful and more full and more perfect.'
Interviewer David Servan Schreiber, MD, PhD, commented that the name ' ''David Lynch'' is strongly bound with the notion of unbounded creativity.'
Transcendental Meditation allows one to dive into 'an ocean of infinite creativity', Mr Lynch responded.
As an example, he said that a great violinist has a level of consciousness, 'a deeper knowing of when to push that bow, how long, how to slide into the next note' that makes that violinist 'head and shoulders above [others]'.
'Creativity is problem solving, so it's used for all avenues of life . . . . It's like seeing something, knowing it's not correct, and seeing a way to make it correct,' Mr Lynch said.
Creativity is a 'flow of ideas', he continued, adding that the 'flow of creativity—it just gets [to be] more and more'.
