Raja John Konhaus speaks on the inauguration of the Global Financial Capital of New York

'It is a special day when we can celebrate the birth of an institution on the same day that Nature is celebrating the birth of Totality,' said Raja John Konhaus, leader of the Global Country of World Peace for the domain of California, during the global celebration of Raam Navami on 27 March.

The auspiciousness of Raam Navami is such, Raja Konhaus said, that 'Totality or Wholeness is born, and so the birth of the Global Financial Capital of New York on this day is very auspicious. This institution will now celebrate Wholeness in the field of finance, and that is what Maharishi Mahesh Yogi has told us—that the quality of financing, the quality of wealth, will now change from fear to progressive prosperity.

New York is the perfect place for a Global Financial Capital, Raja Konhaus explained, 'because it does lead the world in finance. In the past that leadership has been shadowed by this feeling, as Maharishi said in his address today, of the fear of loss, and that has caused poverty and imbalance. When one fears, one creates duality, when one is progressive, one creates unity. New York had the dynamism but it didn't have the balance of silence behind that dynamism.

What the Global Financial Capital will bring is silence, and when that silence is combined with dynamism, we get Totality which is Raam, said Raja Konhaus. 'It is only Maharishi's insight, only Maharishi's genius as a sage, that he can think about changing the entire nature of finance in the world, on a simple change of principle—moving from fear to wholeness.

'So it is the birth symbolized by Raam Navami, on this day, which is the real strength of this Financial Capital: that we can think now of creating invincibility in the world, on the basis of a simple principle of Totality in the field of finance, Maharishi says. If we can be bold instead of being fearful, the whole world will change from poverty to wholeness.'

Raja Konhaus noted that the Global Financial Capital, through all of its programmes, including coherence-creating groups, will awaken the quality of balanced economy, and all progressive qualities of life in our country and to the world. All values of prosperity and wealth will radiate from it under the leadership of Raja Paul Potter, Raja of New York, he said.

With its location in the heart of the New York financial district, and proper Vastu, Raja Konhaus said, 'this Capital will bless the entire world. It is the unique gift of Maharishi that such a small point—this building at 70 Broad Street is a small building surrounded by skyscrapers—but it is a point from which infinity can radiate.'
