The official website for the Transcendental Meditation Programme, www.TM.org, has recently been redesigned to include multimedia presentations on the wide range of benefits offered by the technique, as well as links to many additional rich sources of information on Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's programmes.
'The TM.org home page now features a systematic presentation of the range of benefits which can be gained through Transcendental Meditation,' said Dr Mario Orsatti, National Director of Communication for the Global Country of World Peace in the US, in a recent report.* A rotating series of images and captions on the home page display benefits such as inner peace, stress relief, better health, reduced anxiety, and spiritual development. 'In just a few seconds, visitors will gain a complete sense of TM's powerful and holistic effects,' Dr Orsatti added.
Also newly added to the home page is 2.5-minute video introduction to Transcendental Meditation, featuring commentary by Dr John Hagelin, Raja of Invincible America, National Director of the Transcendental Meditation Programme in the US; and renowned psychiatrist and author Norman Rosenthal, MD.
In the video, Dr Rosenthal describes the experience of Transcendental Meditation as 'slipping into a zone in which you are thoroughly alert, profoundly relaxed, joyful in spirit, but not focused on anything in particular'. He also emphasizes that the technique is the most practical and effortless means of accessing the state of Transcendental Consciousness.
In addition to this brief summary video, which is geared towards the average web visitor, the TM.org home page also has a link to a longer, more thorough introduction to Transcendental Meditation by Raja Hagelin. 'The extended intro offers an in-depth understanding of TM's effects in developing full mental potential and creating perfect health, ideal personal relationships, and world peace,' said Dr Orsatti.
Two other informative and engaging video-based resources accessible via the TM.org home page are the Video Cafe and the TM Blog. The Video Cafe features video, news, and documentaries in which people from all walks of life describe their experiences with the technique. The blog features a diverse set of Transcendental Meditation-related videos as well, and offers visitors the opportunity to 'share' their favorite clips via popular social networking sites such as Facebook® and Twitter. Dr Orsatti added that contributors to the blog include faculty members at Maharishi University of Management and Transcendental Meditation Teachers.
'The advanced media and communications tools incorporated in the TM.org home page provide an exciting opportunity to spread the beautiful message of Maharishi—that life is meant to be lived in enlightenment and national invincibility,' said Dr Orsatti in closing.
* Dr Orsatti's report was featured on the 21 September 2010 Maharishi Global Family Chat, broadcast daily via Internet webcast on the Maharishi Channel, Channel 3.
