On 21 June 2017 TOLOnews reported: The Invincible Defense Technology (IDT) approach is unlike any other defense technology and has been used during wartime, resulting in reduction of fighting, writes Dr David Leffler. It is a joy for Global Good News service to feature this news, which indicates the success of the life-supporting programmes Maharishi has designed to bring fulfilment to the field of world peace.

War and terrorism in Afghanistan could quickly end if a minimum of 578 of Afghanistan's troops were trained [in IDT]. . . . The purpose of this IDT group would be to practice the non-religious Transcendental Meditation (TM) and the advanced TM-Sidhi program in groups twice a day.

Extensive peer-reviewed research and military field-tests worldwide show that proper application of these programs brings about measurable decreases in crime, terrorism, and war and improvements in quality of life, which are thought to be signs of the reduction of societal stress.

It is Afghanistan's high collective stress levels that ultimately fuel the never ending terrorism and war. Once Afghanistan's dangerous levels of collective stress and frustration are reduced by applying IDT, then its governmental leaders and citizens will be more capable of finding constructive and orderly solutions to the sticky issues that have kept them at odds for generations.

The IDT approach is advocated by the Global Union of Scientists for Peace (GUSP). This non-profit organization hosted an international conference on 14-15 June 2017 in Kiev, Ukraine (see: Global Peace Summit).

Mr. Mohd Khalid Naseemi, the founder and Director-General of the Afghanistan Environmental Society, is among the impressive list of participants who spoke at or voiced their support for the conference. Others included President Joaquim Chissano of Mozambique, who applied innovative IDT programs to end that nation's civil war; retired Ecuadorian Lt. General José Villamil, who applied IDT to end war between Ecuador and Peru; Dr. Rajendra Pachauri, former chair of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), winner of the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize; and renowned Ukrainian leaders Lt. General (Ret.) Vasyl Krutov, former chief of the Ukraine Anti-Terrorism Center, as well as Academician Dr. Sergiy Maksymenko, a distinguished Ukrainian research scientist.

Dr. David Leffler has a PhD in Consciousness-Based Military Defense and served as an Associate of the Proteus Management Group at the Center for Strategic Leadership, US Army War College. Currently, he serves as the Executive Director of the Center for Advanced Military Science and lectures and writes worldwide on Invincible Defense Technology (IDT).
