The first Maharishi Invincibility Centre for Singapore, teaching the Transcendental Meditation programme, was recently established. Singapore, a small city-state south of the Malay Peninsula in Southeast Asia, is a thriving financial and cosmopolitan centre. The Maharishi Invincibility Centre is located in a dignified area near Singapore's geographic centre; situated at the highest elevation in Singapore it affords beautiful panoramic views.
The Transcendental Meditation programme in Singapore was established over 50 years ago when Maharishi Mahesh Yogi visited the country. Since then a core of dedicated practitioners has maintained teaching activities in the area.
The new Centre, the first permanent home for the programme, was acquired through the generosity of a local family. Mr CK Low, Director of the Transcendental Meditation programme in Singapore, recently presented a video tour of the building. Oriented to the east,* the building has ample space for meeting and teaching rooms and for group meditation.
One important purpose of the new Centre is to host regular group practice of Transcendental Meditation and its advanced techniques, including Yogic Flying, which scientific research has shown to reduce crime and other negative social trends, and create an effect of coherence and peace in collective consciousness.
In addition to regular courses of instruction in Transcendental Meditation, a one-day course for people who already practise the technique was held recently at the new facility. Participants enjoyed the programme of knowledge, the environment, and practising the advanced Transcendental Meditation-Sidhi programme together, creating a peaceful influence in the surroundings.
Local teachers commented that the new Maharishi Invincibility Centre is an ideal venue to house teaching and other activities for the Transcendental Meditation programme in Singapore.
* One of the important principles of Maharishi Vastu architecture to promote good health, success, and prosperity for a building's occupants.
