Young meditators inspired to bring Transcendental Meditation to people worldwide

A meditation course on the waterfront on the beautiful island of Hvar, Croatia, drew together a diverse and creative group of young people from across Europe. They were all initially attracted to the course by their enjoyment of Transcendental Meditation, but upon leaving, many felt a strong desire to help create peace and harmony in the world.
An organizer of the course remarked that some of the young people had never been on an in-residence meditation course before. Indeed, some had just learned Transcendental Meditation the weekend before the course started. But no matter the level of experience, all the course participants left feeling inspired to apply their skills and interests in a way that could change the world.
The course featured presentations from experts in their fields, including an interactive talk with award-winning film director, David Lynch. He spoke about creating peace and how people can help bring Transcendental Meditation to those in need worldwide.
Said one of the course organizers, '[The participants] just couldn't stop thinking about how they could help promote Transcendental Meditation in the world.'
This also occurred at last year's young meditator course, the first time it was offered, but this time there was a new dimension.
Last year, the course organizer explained, those who attended came up with many good ideas to help college students learn about the benefits of Transcendental Meditation. This year, he said, there was a feeling among the group that 'we were now part of a youth movement, we were going to help realize its goals by supporting initiatives of the Maharishi Foundation and the David Lynch Foundation.'
Other participants expressed similar feelings. 'The live linkup with David Lynch himself was a particular highlight,' said a recent university graduate, 'and really inspired me to become involved in the foundation's work.
A young man from London said, 'I'm so much looking forward to dedicating my time to work with the David Lynch Foundation and make a change that starts within, and help others to get what I've got—which is just sheer bliss.'
