Greece: Dr Bevan Morris visits land planned for Peace Palace

Following his 14-country tour of Africa earlier this year, Dr Bevan Morris went on to visit several countries around the Mediterranean, including Greece. Dr Morris is president of Maharishi University of Management and an international authority in the application of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's programmes to promote good health, education and business success, and invincible peace and progress in countries around the world.

Shortly after arriving in Greece, Dr Morris visited a parcel of land near Athens that was acquired some years ago. Hosted by Demetrios Glykas, director of the Transcendental Meditation programme in Greece, his wife Maria, and Spiros Assimakis, a former director, he enjoyed seeing the 1.2 hectare property, currently a lovely meadow of poppies. It lies on the other side of the mountain from the great city of Athens and has a view of the nearby town of Koropi. This specific parcel was selected because it has proper orientation according to Maharishi Vastu architecture and city planning.

Local architects and developers, in conjunction with Maharishi Vastu experts, will design a Maharishi Peace Palace to be built on the land in accord with Vastu principles. This 'fortune creating' building will be a great centre of coherence for Greece and will offer courses in Transcendental Meditation and its advanced techniques, as well as many other programmes developed by Maharishi designed to improve the quality of personal and social life.*

Currently the land is about 30 minutes from Athens, but as the Greek economy improves the government plans to build a tunnel through the mountain into Athens, thus making both the city and its airport more accessible.
