New Paradigm tour
The highlight of the Transcendental Meditation programme in Canada in the past year was the visit by an international delegation on the North American tour called A New Paradigm: Veda, Consciousness, the Ramayana, and the Self.

A recent presentation of Canadian achievements at a conference in Holland noted the highly acclaimed 10-city tour, which featured talks and discussions by top scientists, medical doctors, and businessmen from around the world, including renowned keynote speaker Tony Nader, MD, PhD.* Canadian presentations were given in two venues, Vancouver and Montreal.

The talks awakened great interest particularly among the Indo-Canadian community, with the main theme illustrating and substantiating a modern scientific perspective on ancient Vedic Science, brought to light by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi.

Participants commented that the knowledge in the science-based talks provided them with the missing link in their understanding of their own Vedic heritage.

Maharishi Vastu architecture
Building Maharishi Vastu homes has been progressing on beautiful Salt Spring Island, off the coast of British Columbia near Vancouver. Currently the island has five completed Vastu homes, a development distinguished by being the largest group of Vastu homes in Canada, reported Mr John Cowhig. The homes were built according to principles of Maharishi Vastu and utilized the classic 'West Coast' design featuring glass, stone, and local woods.

In Vastu Estates, a subdivision of ten 5-acre lots on Salt Spring Island, most of the lots are already sold.

Currently plans are in place to develop a second property on Salt Spring Island. The architectural drawings are done and work is set to begin soon on two Vastu guesthouses that will be built using a similar West Coast design approach. Each house will have three floors with 10-11 bedrooms in all.

Another great achievement was the announcement that the group of architects, developers and engineers working on Maharishi Vedic Village in eastern Canada has completed the master plan for the project, and groundbreaking is projected to take place within the year. Soon a prospectus with all the details will be available to the public.

Maharishi Vedic Village, a Vastu-design community, features a magnificent 90-acre (36-hectare) riverfront parcel near Canadian Niagara Falls, and will include a variety of living options.

Global Good News will continue featuring this summary of achievements in Canada in the past year.

* Dr Nader was honoured by Maharishi with the title Maharaja Adhiraj Rajaraam and given responsibility for guiding the Global Country of World Peace.
