New meditators, new courses, new support systems, and a new collaboration with other Nordic countries to train peace-creating experts in the region—recent news from Norway featured many practical advancements to benefit people who are interested in Transcendental Meditation, as well as those who already practise the technique.
Reporting on new developments in the past year, Tore Mjøs, a businessman and longtime teacher of Transcendental Meditation, said that about 120 people learned Transcendental Meditation in 2011, more than in previous years.
A new, more up to date and user-friendly website has been created for the Norwegian Transcendental Meditation Programme, which has been generating interest and positive responses from the public.
Additionally, last spring all the Nordic countries joined together to bring a new advanced course to the region, offering the Transcendental Meditation Sidhi Programme, including Yogic Flying. The course, which is slated for the summer of 2012, would teach approximately 30 people from the Nordic countries, 10 of whom are from Norway. Increasing the number of Yogic Flyers is one of the chief priorities in every country, as a means to increase coherence and harmony and reduce negative tendencies in national consciousness.
Another advancement in Norway, one which will provide more knowledge both for meditators and the general public, is a project to translate courses from English into Norwegian. These courses cover a wide range of educational topics, all brought to light by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. The first translated course, which will be offered in the first half of 2012, is a series of lessons on Maharishi Ayur-Veda, a holistic and balanced approach to health care.
