In the Czech Republic, many new resources of knowledge about the Transcendental Meditation Technique and related programmes have become available in the past year.
New online resources include websites and blogs presenting the benefits of the technique for ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder) and PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder), among other health concerns of great current interest. In the last few years, presentations have also been given to military veterans on the positive results found with Transcendental Meditation in alleviating the effects of traumatic stress.
Books by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, Founder of the Transcendental Meditation Programme, have recently been translated and published in the Czech language, including Science of Being and Art of Living, and Maharishi's translation and commentary on the Bhagavad-Gita.*
Many more people in the Czech Republic have become interested in Transcendental Meditation recently—there has been a 40 per cent increase in the number of people learning the technique during the past year. Weekly advanced meetings for Transcendental Meditation practitioners have been held in the capital city of Prague, as well in the eastern part of the nation.
