Maharishi Vastu (Vedic architecture) initiatives around the world—including in Mozambique, Zambia, Uganda, Sudan, Guinea-Bissau, Togo, Mali, Cambodia, Malaysia, and Brazil—will offer not only ideal homes and offices for individuals, but also the opportunity to create beautiful garden cities with ideal living conditions for everyone.
These new cities should be 'most anciently designed and most modernly equipped', free from pollution, crime, noise, and stress, explained Maharishi Vastu expert, Dr Eike Hartmann. With all roads aligned east/west and north/south, square Vastu lots are automatically created with buildings facing in the recommended auspicious eastern direction.
The coherence and orderliness of Vastu cities constructed in harmony with natural law help to create a Maharishi Vastu Effect much like the Meissner Effect in physics.
Also under consideration is the proposed reconstruction of existing cities—how to gradually transform the congested city centre, building ideal satellite towns and thus creating a more beautifully expanded garden city. The whole country could even be envisioned as one garden city, Dr Hartmann commented.
Using Vastu reconstruction principles in actual case studies, potential designs have been created using major cities such as Paris, London, New York, Rome, and Moscow, and Geneva as examples.
