Health, music, education, rehabilitation programmes expanding in Turkey

Several tours and initiatives supporting expansion of the programmes of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi in the fields of health, music, rehabilitation, and education are underway in Turkey.

In the field of health, a Maharishi Ayur-Veda course in self-pulse reading* was recently held in Istanbul, said a leader of the Global Country of World Peace, reporting on 16 March.

In April, a famous sitar player will travel to Turkey, touring and playing Maharishi Gandharva Veda music concerts in several cities including Istanbul, Ankara, and Izmir.

Also in April, Dr Ashley Deans, Global Ambassador for Consciousness-Based Education,** will tour in Northern Cyprus and Turkey speaking about the profound benefits of Consciousness-Based Education.

A recent presentation to officials about the effectiveness of the Transcendental Meditation Programme as a means of rehabilitation of prison inmates was well-received, the leader continued. They are considering a proposed pilot project in which several hundred prisoners would have the opportunity to learn the technique and practise together.

*Self-pulse reading is a means to help detect states of physiological balance and imbalance.
