Czech Republic: 2010 a year of expansion of Maharishi's programmes

2010 was a year of expansion for the programmes of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi in the Czech Republic. Media reports, other publications, and online information inspired more people to learn the Transcendental Meditation Programme; veterans and government officials learned about the benefits of Transcendental Meditation in the field of defence and for alleviating Post-Traumatic Stress; and women had the opportunity to attend several continuing education seminars.

This last year saw a 50% increase in the number of people learning the Transcendental Meditation Programme compared to the previous year.

National Directors of the Global Country of World Peace in the Czech Republic attribute the growing numbers in part to a new Transcendental Meditation website. The website offers an online application form for those interested in the programme and features a page of Meditators' experiences with the technique. There is also a page on Facebook^® with fresh news and photos posted every day.

New Meditators interested in learning more about Maharishi's knowledge and programmes now have the opportunity to enjoy a very rich follow-up programme.

Programmes offered by the Global Country in the Czech Republic were featured in an online magazine, in seven major articles highlighting Transcendental Meditation, Consciousness-Based Education, and Invincible Defence Technology.

The National Directors attended several meetings organized by the Czech Ministry of Defence. The meetings provided an opportunity to present the Transcendental Meditation Programme to Czech veterans* and to discuss the benefits of the programme.

In addition, the Global Mother Divine Organization** held several continuing education seminars for women.

* On 13 December 2010 the David Lynch Foundation launched ''Operation Warrior Wellness''—a national initiative in the United States to offer 10,000 veterans and their families the Transcendental Meditation Programme for preventing and treating post-traumatic stress disorder.
