Global Mother Divine Organization Translate This Article
23 July 2010
More and more women in Canada are becoming aware of the benefits of the Transcendental Meditation Programme, as well as other women's health programmes offered by the Global Mother Divine Organization,* through creative approaches using social media.
The organization reported on achievements in Canada on the final day of the recent Third International GMDO Congress in MERU, Holland.
Transcendental Meditation Programme for women and girls
The Victoria Times health supplement carried a one-page article on Transcendental Meditation and women's health, as well as an advertisement for Transcendental Meditation.
Dr Helen Foster Grimmett, Director of the GMDO Foundation for the Development of Consciousness in Canada, gave a radio interview on the benefits of Transcendental Meditation for women on station CFUV in Victoria, British Columbia last spring.
A well-designed Transcendental Meditation Women Professionals page on Facebook® has 200 fans now.
Isabel Heaton and Rhonda Day have been focussing on the Quiet Time Transcendental Meditation programmes in girls' schools in Ontario, and at a high school in Edmonton.
Five women from Canada are participating in the Transcendental Meditation Teacher Training Course currently in progress in the United States.
Health programmes
Several initiatives are helping promote Maharishi Light Therapy with Gems in Canada. The programme has been offered to 54 women (a total of 134 sessions) this year in Montreal, Ottawa, Edmonton, Calgary, Victoria, and Nanaimo. Kathleen Lapeyrouse completed training earlier this year, and has joined Michele Beausoleil and Beverly Merson in the practice.
A web page about Maharishi Light Therapy with Gems has been created in both French and English, and a beautiful brochure, also bilingual, has been produced. An attractive advertisement appeared in the Quebec magazine Mieux-Etre, which will be published in other magazines in the future.
GMDO also offered courses in the approach of Maharishi Ayur-Veda health care for Diet and Digestion, and Maharishi Gandharva Veda vocal music.
Global Good News will continue to feature GMDO news from Canada, and other delegates' reports on their countries during the Third International Congress in Holland.
