New Zealand: Crime decreases in community surrounding school where students practise Transcendental Meditation

In New Zealand, crime has decreased markedly throughout the city of South Auckland, home of a school where many students practise the Transcendental Meditation Programme. The number of criminal events in South Auckland decreased from 805 to 254 within six months. 'These six months corresponded exactly to the amount of time students had been practising TM,' noted Dr Graeme Lodge, National Director of New Zealand for the Global Country of World Peace.
In contrast, Dr Lodge pointed out, in the neighbouring city of Auckland criminal events had actually increased within those six months, from 810 to 825. 'This demonstrates how Transcendental Meditation practice has a powerful positive influence on the local community.'
Dr Lodge went on to report* that construction will soon begin on a 10-room accommodation block for residence courses in Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's programmes. This facility will be built according to Vastu principles of Vedic Architecture, and will welcome all practitioners of the Transcendental Meditation and Transcendental Meditation Sidhi Programmes. The building has been approved by local authorities, and construction will begin in October 2010 once the soil dries out. 'The project is full ahead, and we expect to be holding the first courses by January 2011,' Dr Lodge added.
Also in New Zealand, Maharishi Ayur-Veda products have become increasingly popular. This development is due in part to a newly-designed website which customizes the online experience of each user.
