At the Dominica State Prison, 8 officers and 53 inmates have learnt the Transcendental Meditation Programme in the past four weeks. The inmates now participate in twice daily group practice of the technique, and many have reported feeling calmer, less anger, and increased happiness as a result.
A top prison official has arranged for Dr Jim and Dr Sara Anderson, Teachers of Transcendental Meditation in Dominica, to give another presentation to prison officers on the profound benefits of TM for rehabilitation of criminal offenders.
The Andersons continue to teach Transcendental Meditation at the Maharishi Invincibility Centre* in Roseau, the capital city of Dominica, reported Raja Lucien Mansour, Raja of Invincible Dominica for the Global Country of World Peace, recently.** Among those learning the technique in a recent course at the Centre, four had heard about it through a television feature on the Dominica State Prison project.
Also recently in Dominica, a Residence Course was held for Transcendental Meditation practitioners, and a World Peace Assembly for practitioners of the Transcendental Meditation Sidhi Programme, including Yogic Flying—with a combined 50 participants.
'This was a wonderful turnout, especially considering Dominica is a nation of only 80,000 people,' remarked Raja Lucien. He also noted that another set of courses will be held at the Maharishi Invincibility Centre, 1-5 April 2010. In-residence advanced courses provide not only an opportunity for deep rest, rejuvenation, and accelerated progress for individual participants, but also a profound influence of coherence in the whole atmosphere through group practice of Maharishi's Technologies of Consciousness.
* Maharishi Invincibility Centres in major cities around the world offer the knowledge and programmes of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, including the Transcendental Meditation Programme, to promote enlightenment for every individual and invincibility for every nation through development of full potential in every area of life.
** Raja Lucien's report was featured on the 9 March 2010 Maharishi Global Family Chat, broadcast daily via Internet webcast on the Maharishi Channel, Channel 3. Podcasts of the daily Global Family Chat (audio track) are also now available for automatic download, via an RSS feed.
