US: Many top artists supporting Transcendental Meditation

In recent months, top musicians, artists, and publicists have come forward to offer their help in making the Transcendental Meditation Programme and other programmes of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi widely available.

Dr Robert Roth, National Director of Expansion for the Global Country of World Peace in the United States, said approximately 50 artists and promoters have offered their assistance in the past one or two months, to hold benefit concerts and support these programmes in a variety of ways.*

One publicist expressed the desire to dedicate her life to this endeavour. She is one of 15-20 highly regarded professionals who have recently been drawn to helping, Dr Roth said.

Dr Roth also highlighted the tremendous on-going contributions of people such as award-winning filmmaker Dr David Lynch, legendary singer-songwriter Donovan, and renowned entrepreneur and philanthropist Russell Simmons.

Mr Simmons has put a very clear and powerful message about the Transcendental Meditation Programme on his website, Dr Roth said.

He is also putting his attention on education. Mr Simmons wants to establish Consciousness-Based Education schools throughout Africa and charter schools offering the programme throughout the US.

These schools will bear Mr Simmons' name, because that will draw students. However, Mr Simmons made it clear that the essential aspect of the school will be Transcendental Meditation, and the credit will go to Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, Founder of the Transcendental Meditation Programme and the Global Country of World Peace.
