The greatest achievement in the rapidly growing field of Vedic architecture, Maharishi Sthapatya Veda, in the past year was the start of construction of the first Vastu building designed to last for thousands of years to come.
Maharishi Samadhi Smarak, a memorial of Total Knowledge inspired by the lifelong work of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, is now under construction at Prayag (Allahabad), India.
Speaking about the expansion of Fortune-Creating building projects around the world in 2009, Dr Eike Hartmann, Minister of Architecture of the Global Country of World Peace, reported on the Maharishi Samadhi Smarak during the 12 January global celebration. Sixty-four massive pillars are now rising above the 50-foot (15-metre) deep, solid foundation, he explained. These pillars of traditionally carved, interlocking stone blocks, without any iron reinforcements, will uphold this Vedic building that will have 1,000 golden Kalashes* on the stepped roof.
Such a building project has never been achieved in India before. It will be seen and visited by millions of people every year, as it dominates the sacred confluence of holy rivers in the Triveni Sangam. 'This great Hall of Silence is carefully aligned to face east and is complete with twelve exhibition halls that display Maharishi's supreme knowledge to transform life on earth,' Dr Hartmann said.
Twelve-storey Maharishi Towers of Invincibility will be built in every country, Dr Hartmann continued, as pledged to Maharishi in January 2008 by the Rajas of the Global Country of World Peace. The first Tower will rise in MERU, Holland, where construction has been approved by local authorities. An innovative system of solid, pre-cast, marble-granulated, fully ornamented wall elements, which are also free from iron reinforcement, is currently being finalized.
Work on Maharishi Towers is also starting in Argentina and Bolivia, in the domain of Raja Jose Luis Alvarez, Raja of Invincible Latin America.
Construction has already been inaugurated on the Tower near Buenos Aires, Argentina. Plans include two adjacent Maharishi Invincibility Schools; the Tower complex will be situated in the centre of a Garden City Peace Colony** of about 100 fortune-creating homes.
'This combination of Maharishi Invincibility Schools, a Maharishi Tower of Invincibility, and commercial housing development is the success model which Raja Luis is repeating in several countries,' Dr Hartmann said. Construction of a Maharishi Garden City of potentially 3,000 homes is also starting in Bolivia.

* The Kalash, a Vedic form installed on the roof of a building, is a signature of Maharishi Vedic architecture. Meaning a vessel in Sanskrit, the Kalash enlivens the connection of the house with the cosmos.
** Peace Colony: A community founded to help create invincibility for a nation, based on the principles of Maharishi's Vedic Science and their practical applications for living perfection in all areas of life—featuring a Maharishi Peace Palace, a Maharishi School, a Maharishi Ayur-Veda Health Center, homes, and buildings for group practice of Yogic Flying—all built according to Vastu principles of Vedic Architecture, Maharishi Sthapatya Veda.
