Third IamU conference in MERU, Holland: German 'Club Meditation' to celebrate 15th anniversary

15 June 2009
Since 1994 young people in Germany have come together to support the programmes of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi and to enjoy deep friendships with like-minded youth experiencing increased success and happiness through the practice of the Transcendental Meditation Programme and its advanced techniques including Yogic Flying.
The group has come to be known as 'Club Meditation' and this July it celebrates its 15th anniversary. Speaking at the third IamU conference* recently held in MERU, Holland, Lila-Maria Hartmann, an international administrator of IamU ('I am Universal')** extended a warm invitation to the nation's youth to celebrate with Club Meditation and to join them in their world-transforming initiatives.
'Let me share with you the story of an amazing group of young people,' Lila-Maria said. Club Meditation started with a handful of young people in the summer of 1994. Within six months the group had grown to about 90, and several hundred have participated in the club over the years. 'We inspire each other and empower each other—and everyone is important,' she said.
'The experience of everyone [is] that you can simply Be your Self,' she continued. 'It's also fun to meditate together—and many became [Yogic Flyers] and some became Teachers of Transcendental Meditation.'
Now after 15 years, the group would like to expand its numbers and activities significantly. All together they wrote to young people throughout Germany inviting them to the club's anniversary celebration—which is being held this summer at a Maharishi Sthapatya Veda house that one of the members built for his parents out of straw bales. He has since become a pioneer in Maharishi Sthapatya Veda sandbag construction and has travelled all over the world offering his expertise.
Lila-Maria congratulated founding and current members, and guests from many countries who have participated over the years, for the powerful phenomenon that has been quietly growing since the club's formation. 'And now we see . . . a new wave happening on a global level with IamU,' she added.
'The Global Country of World Peace offers a home to all of us, and to all of you, and to so many young people who are searching for more . . . and who simply know that it's common sense to not have poison in medicine or in agriculture, and all these areas. Maharishi has revived this complete knowledge—theoretical and practical—in all these areas, and it's available through the Global Country of World Peace' she said.
Global Good News will continue to feature talks from the IamU conference in the coming days.
