The Russian delegation currently working to create Maharishi Garden Cities around St Petersburg recently visited MERU, Holland, for the signing of the memorandum of understanding that launched the project.
'As Russia is the biggest country of our world, the people of Russia are used to thinking really big,' said Dr Peter Swan, Minister of Communication for the Global Country of World Peace, during the delegation's visit to the International Capital of the Global Country in MERU. Russia stretches across 11 time zones, from the border of Europe almost to the border of Alaska in the United States.
Dr Eike Hartmann, Minister of Vedic Architecture and Global Reconstruction of the Global Country of World Peace, explained that St Petersburg is the western capital of Russia—probably the most beautiful city in Europe, known as the 'Venice of the North'—built by Tsar Peter the Great, with the help of Dutch engineers, at the mouth of the Neva River on the Baltic Sea.
Peter the Great invited the best architects and engineers from Italy and all over Europe to build the city with its great palaces, gardens, bridges, and churches. He wanted to have a capital city that is open to Europe and its Western culture and civilization, Dr Hartmann explained.
'Through this open door today, some great personalities have come with projects to create ideal living conditions for the population of Russia' through Maharishi Garden Cities, he said.
Raja Avinoam Barkol, Purusha* Raja of universal domain, who has lived in Russian and speaks Russian, introduced the Russian delegation.
Global Good News will feature further articles about the delegation and the Maharishi Garden Cities project in the coming days.
* Maharishi Mahesh Yogi has explained that Purusha means the Self, the quality of infinite silence of the Unified Field of Natural Law. Maharishi designed the Maharishi Purusha Programme for men who wish to dedicate themselves fulltime to the most rapid pace of evolution and creating world peace, through extended group practice of the Transcendental Meditation Sidhi Programme, including Yogic Flying, and through their administration through silence, fulfilling the goals of the Global Country of World Peace in 192 countries of the world. Several members of Purusha are Rajas of the Global Country with universal domain.
