27 February 2009
Wednesday 25 February 2009 was a historic day marking the launch of a global programme to build Maharishi Garden Cities around the world—realizing the supreme vision of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi for beautiful cities, built in accord with Natural Law, to create good fortune for every individual, invincibility for every nation, and peace for the world. The first Maharishi Garden City will be built at St Petersburg in Russia.
A memorandum of understanding was signed Wednesday between the Global Country of World Peace and the development company and architects in Russia who will create the pilot project that will be the 'blueprint' for building Maharishi Garden Cities around the world according to Vedic Architecture, Maharishi Sthapatya Veda.
Announcing this project, Dr Eike Hartmann, Minister of Global Reconstruction of the Global Country of World Peace, introduced the prominent Russian architect Janete Viksne, and Micho Michanovich, a builder and Teacher of Transcendental Meditation, who are spearheading this project in Russia; as well as Dr Egon Kolsdorf, Master Builder of the Global Country of World Peace, and other architects who will be offering the knowledge and plans for building this city.
These Garden Cities are the realization of Maharishi's plan to have large, beautiful, and self-sufficient cities of fortune-creating buildings for the people of the city, with gardens and fountains, and designed to be completely free of pollution.
There will be a Maharishi Tower of Invincibility in each Garden City, and each area will have its own schools offering Consciousness-Based Education, where all the students and teachers practise Maharishi's Technologies of Consciousness, the Transcendental Meditation and Transcendental Meditation Sidhi Programme, to create coherent collective consciousness for the invincibility of the nation.
The plans for the cities will include gardens and farms, so that each home and community is self-sufficient in daily, fresh Vedic Organic food. Each Garden City will also be self-sufficient in waste management and recycling.
Maharishi Vedic Pandits will reside in each location to maintain the purity of collective consciousness and alignment with Natural Law for the whole population. The city will be self-sufficient for all aspects of city life for the creation of the health, wealth, and happiness of every citizen.
The Garden City at St Petersburg will be a pilot project, a 'blueprint' for five more to be built around the city, and for others around the world.
Maharishi told one of the Rajas of the Global Country of World Peace that one city, large enough and built according to Maharishi Sthapatya Veda, would be enough to create world peace. Even the buildings and design of the city, as well as the coherent collective consciousness of the people, will contribute to the creation of world peace.
Global Good News will feature further articles about this historic agreement in the coming days.
