Netherlands: 200 Maharishi Sthapatya Veda homes to be built in Lelystad

In Lelystad, Netherlands, where a Maharishi Peace Colony* is located, an area of 8,000 new houses is being developed. Plans for the development include two Maharishi Sthapatya Veda condominiums with 15 apartments each.

Dr Paul Gelderloos, National Director for the Global Country of World Peace in the Netherlands, recently announced that a trade show was held to promote this new housing project, and Fortunate Living, the Maharishi Sthapatya Veda building corporation in Holland, was invited to participate. The show was organized so that everyone had to pass all the displays, and about 3,500 people viewed the Maharishi Sthapatya Veda presentation.

Interested families engaged in at least 80 serious discussions about the project, Dr Gelderloos said, and 30 people signed up to have a Maharishi Sthapatya Veda home. 'This is proportionately much more than has been seen at any other trade show,' he commented.

Following the trade show, Maharishi Sthapatya Veda architects held a special workshop for the builders of the new housing development, presenting the main principles of Vedic town planning. As a result, the second phase of the project will now include the building of 200 Vastu homes.

Dr Gelderloos saw these developments as an expression of a new, rising trend throughout the population in Holland, to adopt the knowledge and programmes of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, Founder of the Global Country of World Peace. 'There is much more openness and even active readiness to build whole neighbourhoods.'
