Raja Michael Dillbeck, PhD, Trustee and International Professor of Maharishi University of Management, Iowa, USA, spoke on 25 October on the Global Family Chat to present an exciting new development in the field of scientific research on Maharishi's Transcendental Meditation and Transcendental Meditation Sidhi Programme. Dr Dillbeck serves as Raja (Administrator) of the Global Country of World Peace in France, Latvia, Mauritius, Fiji, Algeria, Tonga, and Cameroon.

Under Dr Dillbeck's expert guidance, a series of slide shows is being prepared depicting the research in chart form, and will be made available in many languages. Charts have been animated, with moving bar graphs, to make them easily accessible to any audience. These presentations will utilize the latest slide show software. Dr Dillbeck's innovative work in making this research accessible to a general audience will be of great assistance to everyone involved in presenting this knowledge to the public.

Dr Dillbeck has conducted and published many ground-breaking original studies on the Transcendental Meditation and Transcendental Meditation Sidhi programme. In addition, Dr Dillbeck worked for many years under the direct guidance of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, Founder of the Global Country of World Peace, to consolidate the research and bring out its practical applications in different spheres of life, such as education, health, economics, rehabilitation, national integration, and international harmony.

More than 600 scientific studies conducted at 250 independent universities and institutions in 30 countries, and published in over 100 leading scientific journals, have documented wide-ranging benefits from this technology for mind, body, behaviour, and environment. Collectively, these investigations form the world's largest and strongest body of research on any programme to develop human potential. Key findings have been replicated many times and are further supported by meta-analyses—the most rigorous statistical method for quantitative review of multiple studies.

Dr Dillbeck pointed out that research on the Transcendental Meditation and Transcendental Meditation Sidhi Programme is also unique in the extent of its cross validation: important findings are validated by several different measures. For example, the finding that these programmes decreases stress is demonstrated not only by physiological studies showing reduced cortisol (the major stress hormone), decreased muscle tension, normalization of blood pressure, and increased autonomic stability, but also by psychological findings of reduced anxiety and depression, and by sociological evidence of improved relationships, increased job satisfaction, and more life-supporting behaviour.
