Maharishi's historic visit to Malaysia in 1958 planted seeds of current successes

In a recent Global Family Chat, Dr Pat Barrett, Raja of Malaysia and Singapore for the Global Country of World Peace, presented inspiring successes taking place in those countries.
The presentation took place on 14 July 2008, the first day of the current 11-day global Guru Purnima Assembly in MERU, Netherlands, in honour of the lifetime achievements of His Holiness Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, Founder of the Global Country of World Peace.
Malaysia was the first country Maharishi visited when he began his first worldwide tour to teach the Transcendental Meditation Technique in 1958. Today in Malaysia and Singapore there are sixteen active teachers of the Transcendental Meditation Programme in five centres, and three more teachers are currently being trained.
Additional activities promoting Maharishi's programmes in Malaysia and Singapore include a Maharishi Peace Palace, and a residence facility for participants of the Mother Divine Programme* being constructed this year.
The Maharishi Health Clinic in Malaysia is considered the leading holistic health facility in the country, utilizing modern non-invasive technologies plus Maharishi's Vedic Approach to Health, the most ancient and complete system of natural health care. Representatives of the government's Ministry of Health visited the centre to learn more about Maharishi Ayurveda. Said Raja Barrett, 'The government is looking to us as the experts in complementary medicine.'
*The Mother Divine Programme is an advanced programme for ladies to deepen their experiences of the Transcendental Meditation and Transcendental Meditation-Sidhi Programme, including Yogic Flying, and to radiate a powerful influence of harmony and bliss throughout the whole world.
