by Global Good News staff writer

9 July 2008
During a recent Global Family Chat, Dr Jaan Suurkula, the National Director of Invincible Estonia for the Global Country of World Peace, reported positive national news from all areas of society. He attributed the positive trends to the Maharishi Effect, the influence of rising coherence in collective consciousness. More than 1.5 per cent of the Estonian population have learnt the Transcendental Meditation Technique, and there are more than 500 Yogic Flyers in Estonia, which exceeds the required number for creating invincibility in the nation.
Business and Economy: Estonia's economy received the highest rating from Moody's Investment Service, a leading international credit rating agency. In spite of recent sharp decreases in the European economy, confidence in Estonia's government and economy has remained high.
Forbes Magazine rated Estonia number ten among 120 countries for positive business climate.
AT Kerney listed Estonia among the Top 10 of the World's Most Globalized Countries, reflecting its openness to international trade and tourism.
Estonia, as a leader in the field of information technology, has been chosen by Microsoft and Skype as the location for new software development centres.
Education: A global report on the academic performance of school children ranked Estonia and Japan as number five in the world.
Science: An Estonian scientist recently received international recognition for her work developing a valuable strain of probiotic bacterium.
Two scientists from Tartu University in Estonia developed a greatly improved method for DNA-sequencing that has attracted international attention.
Culture: Estonian filmmaker, Mr Veiko Õunpuu, received three major international awards in the past year. Mr Õunpuu is a practitioner of Transcendental Meditation, as are two of his leading actors, Rain Tolk and Taavi Eelma.
Society: Eurobarometer's public opinion analysis reported that Estonians are among the most optimistic in Europe.
A recent meeting of the presidents of Estonia and Russia further enhanced the positive outlook for the future.
Dr Suurkula concluded by saying that a very positive media response to the visit of Dr David Lynch, Dr John Hagelin*, and Dr Bevan Morris last November resulted in an increase in people learning the Transcendental Meditation Technique.
* World-renowned physicist Dr John Hagelin is Raja of Invincible America, Executive Director of the International Center for Invincible Defense, and Minister of Science and Technology of the Global Country of World Peace.
