Dr Peter Swan, Minister of Communication of the Global Country of World Peace, recently reported on accomplishments in India and Portugal on the Global Family Chat, broadcast daily via satellite and over the Internet on Channel 3 of the Maharishi Channel.
'India now reports 150 Maharishi Schools,* with more than 30,000 Yogic Flyers raising the country's collective consciousness,' Dr Swan continued. The economy is also rising strongly, especially in the field of information technology.
Travellers notice that cylindrical circles of bricks are appearing along both sides of India's roads. They are round towers in which trees are being planted, protected from cows that roam freely there, in a massive programme to reforest the land throughout all parts of the country. On one piece of land of about one by two kilometres, they reported seeing thousands of the brick cylinders, ready for transporting to their new locations. In one state alone, Dr Swan said, 10.5 million trees have been planted.
'So we see that India is coming up in the economy, and in long-range planning for the future and for future generations,' he concluded.
Dr Swan also reported that in Portugal, the first Residence Course in many years for practitioners of the Transcendental Meditation programme was held with 23 course participants reporting 'very blissful experiences'.
