Dr Peter Swan, Minister of Communication for the Global Country of World Peace and host of the Maharishi Global Family Chat broadcast daily on the Maharishi Channel (Channel 3), reports on the arrival of the leaders of the Global Country in India to celebrate the Vedic Farewell ceremonies for Maharishi.

Dr Swan said he was reporting this evening from a hotel in Allahabad. Today was a historic day on which the physical form of Maharishi, accompanied by Maharaja Adhiraj Raja Raam, and by Dr Bevan Morris, the Prime Minister of the Global Country of World Peace, as well as Dr John Hagelin, Raja of Invincible America, and Minister of Science and Technology of the Global Country, and by Kuberji, Dr Benjamin Feldman, the Global Country's Minister of Finance and Planning, all arrived in Prayag, in a procession of at least 60 cars and buses.

'They arrived at the Shankarcharya's* ashram in Prayag, near Allahabad, and there were greeted by the Shankaracharya of Jyotir Math [in the Himalayas], and went together with Shankarcharyaji to Maharishi's ashram,' said Dr Swan.

Tomorrow [Sunday 10 February] Indians from all over India will be coming to Maharishi's Ashram to pay their respects to Maharishi. Also the Kumbha Mela** is in full swing, with two million people already there in Allahabad at the confluence of the Holy Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati rivers.

'Monday is a highly auspicious day,' Dr Swan continued—'The day of Saraswati***, and the appointed time fixed by the Jyotishis**** is 10 o'clock in the morning on Monday for the ceremony to begin for honouring our Maharishi.'

Also today [Saturday] in the late afternoon, the second charter flight arrived with 140 Rajas, Ministers of the Global Country of World Peace, other national leaders, and administrators.

The Rajas came out of the airport in their full formal dress and were met by the press. Dr Paul Potter, Raja of Invincible Canada, gave a short interview to the press after which everybody boarded the buses and in the setting sun, came to Allahabad. Everybody is now settled and well accommodated in their hotels.

They will all be giving the blessings of Maharishi to the 192 countries of our world that will be represented here on Monday.

'The weather in Allahabad and Varanasi is very mild and beautiful, with warm sun and a cool breeze, and everybody is overjoyed to be here in Maharishi's homeland—Maharishi's global family gathered together to pay our respects to Maharishi,' said Dr Swan.

He then reported that Dr Paul Gelderloos, National Director of the Global Country of World Peace for Holland, said that the Dutch press is full of the news of Maharishi. It is in 50 or 60 newspapers and the big television channels. Dr Gelderloos said that the feeling in all these newspapers is of great respect, love, and appreciation for a dear father.

A beautiful book has been made, Celebrating the 12th of January 2008, Maharishi's Year of Invincibility—Global Raam Raj, which contains Maharishi's achievements from 1957 to 2008. Dr Swan said that it has a very complete section now for 2008 containing all Maharishi's last words that he spoke to the group of the Global Congress of Rajas being held recently at MERU in Vlodrop, Holland. Thousands of these books have been brought to India and will be presented to those attending the ceremonies.

Dr Swan then announced the press conference tomorrow, Sunday, 10 February, at 3 pm Indian time and 10:30 am Holland time (CET). This press conference will be broadcast live tomorrow on the Maharishi Channel, Channel 3, for everybody to enjoy. The main Vedic Farewell ceremony will begin Monday at 10am at Maharishi's Ashram in Prayag, Allahabad.

Dr Swan concluded the Global Family Chat from India, saying, 'Everyone is so happy to be here—all together as Maharishi's global family from 192 countries—all celebrating Maharishi's life and achievements as the most illustrious sage of the Vedic Tradition.

'All Glory to Guru Dev [Maharishi's spiritual teacher] and all glory to Maharishi, and all glory His Majesty Maharaja Adhi Raja Raam. Jai Guru Dev.'

* The Shankaracharya of Jyotir Math, one of the four leaders of the Vedic Tradition, who have a 'seat' in the North, South, East, and West of India. They are the custodians of the Vedic Tradition of Total Knowledge.

** Kumbha Mela: The largest spiritual celebration in the world, traditionally held at the confluence of the holy rivers Ganges, Jamuna, and mythical Saraswati, where millions come to bathe in the Holy Ganges and receive blessings of the many saints and spiritual teachers also attending the Kumbha Mela.

*** Saraswati: the Vedic Goddess of pure knowledge, music, and the arts.

**** Jyotishis: Vedic experts in Maharishi Jyotish.
