Dr John Konhaus, Raja (Administrator) of Southwest Vedic America for the Global Country of World Peace, recently reported on the rise of invincibility in California and Arizona.

Dr Konhaus commented that the experience of the deepest value of Natural Law is the same in the settled Vastu (a structure built or oriented according to the principles of Maharishi Sthapatya Veda) of the natural setting of California's Peace Palace in San Ramon, as it is in the Vastu of the Global Financial Capital of New York in New York's bustling financial district. 'Only consciousness has that quality of sameness' in all countries and all cities, he said.

Reporting on Consciousness-Based Education projects, Dr Konhaus said that the one in San Francisco, now in its second year of participation in Maharishi's Transcendental Meditation Programme, began with 200 students and 50 faculty members. This week they will add the new class of 100 more students, guided by a dynamic principal who is one of three finalists for Principal of the Year for the whole country. Now former problem children and their faculty in this inner city school meditate together daily in huge assemblies at school.

In an Invincibility School in Tucson, Arizona, 120 students practice Maharishi's TM Programme. Formerly the students had learning and attention difficulties. Now they are more able to settle down to quieter levels, beginning even from their first time practising the technique. Families and staff report more attentive students, fewer disciplinary problems, and a more relaxed and sweet atmosphere at home and school.

Dr Konhaus next described the South Asian Heart Health Conference organized by Dr Cesar Molina, who is Medical Director of the South Asian Heart Center in the San Francisco area. Dr Molina, who also practises the Transcendental Meditation and TM-Sidhi Programme, including Yogic Flying, gave a well-received introductory presentation on the effects of Transcendental Meditation on heart health to 250 physicians who specialize in cardiology. Ninety of these physicians visited their booth, and 60 requested Dr Robert Schneider's book on Total Heart Health, as well as patient information on how the Transcendental Meditation Programme can improve their heart health.

The conference conclusion was that only four things significantly improve heart health—diet, exercise, good daily routine, and Transcendental Meditation, which Dr Konhaus noted are all basic precepts of Maharishi Ayur-Veda. Two pharmaceutical drug salesmen signed up for Maharishi Ayur-Veda health consultations after attending physicians told them about the Maharishi's Vedic Approach to Health.

Last, Dr Konhaus reported on the support of Natural Law that was developing for a 500-acre campus planned for San Diego. 'Everybody is interested in this concept of developing a state-of-the-art campus facility which would be completely built according to Maharishi Sthapatya Veda, incorporating this new technology of Fortune-Creating housing and medical facilities, and contributing to the patient's health just by the environment in which he will live.' Architects, developers, county planners, financiers, and granting agencies have already come to visit and discuss this completely sustainable, energy self-sufficient, green building project with its beautiful lake to the east. Dr Konhaus said, 'By incorporating all these modalities in our development we are receiving tremendous interest in support from the state—they see this as a model project they can use to promote California and San Diego as a leader in these alternative technologies.' Plans include facilities for 1,000 Vedic Pandits (peace-creating experts) as well.

Dr Konhaus noted that the Housing and Urban Development government program offers loan guaranties that support multifamily housing; the US Department of Agriculture has excess funds for this year for building medical facilities in rural areas such as this; Fannie Mae Bond Programs are available; and two foundations are interested in donating to support these facilities.

He commented that, as in the song, 'Something good is happening all over the world,'* now the doors of Kuber—the impulse of intelligence responsible for nourishing the world through wealth—are opening. 'We're finding that financial support is coming from all sides now for our projects.'
