Dr Robert Wynne, Raja (Administrator) of Central Vedic America for the Global Country of World Peace, and Mayor of Maharishi Vedic City, Iowa, USA, reported that according to the US Census Bureau, Maharishi Vedic City is the fastest growing city in Iowa. The city is growing very rapidly; and next week the population will top 1,000. He also pointed out that it is the second largest city in Jefferson County, and that Fairfield, the largest, has 2,000 Yogic Flyers, adding 'The plan has always been to have a population of 8,000.'
This coming Sunday, 12 August, Mayor Wynne announced, the Vedic Pandits (peace-creating experts) residing in Maharishi Vedic City will inaugurate their new 6,000 square foot [557 square metre] Mandap building for the performance of Maharishi's Vedic technologies. As part of the ceremonies, the Pandits will chant the same Vedic recitations used for the recent Guru Purnima celebration and inauguration of the Maharishi Tower of Invincibility on the nearby campus of Maharishi University of Management. 'Vedic recitations are played on the Maharishi Channel and are being done every day,' he said, 'and visitors will soon be able to hear them live. We have 500 Vedic Pandits now, with 500 more to come—a dream come true.'
