Dr Jose Luis Alvarez, Raja (Administrator) of Latin America for the Global Country of World Peace, summarized the waves of celebration throughout Latin America as cornerstones were laid for Maharishi Towers of Invincibility in many countries during the global celebration of Guru Purnima on 29 July 2007.
Argentina's celebration near Buenos Aires was auspicious because the mayor of the city, who hosted the celebration, is also a leader of mayors. He has allocated 12 hectares of land, Dr Alvarez said, 'for making his country invincible'.
The mayor of Santiago, Bolivia, also led the celebration programme there. In five schools they now have 421 students who have learned the Transcendental Meditation and advanced TM-Sidhi Programme, including Yogic Flying—well over the 300 required to create invincibility for their country. Their Tower of Invincibility will be built on five hectares of donated land.
The traditional Guru Purnima celebration was held for the first time in Angola, Cape Verde, Chile, and other countries, some of which were in Africa. In Bogota, Colombia, their tower will be in a residential area; while in Ecuador two pieces of land have been donated. The vice chancellor of the university in Caracas, Venezuela, gave the best piece of land there near the city. Guinea, Mexico, and Paraguay held celebrations; and two hectares of land were donated for Invincibility Towers in both Brazil and Nicaragua.
Overall, Dr Alvarez reported, 'There is an upsurge of beautiful positivity,' as 16 new plots of land were received to raise Invincibility Towers throughout Latin America, with five mayors involved in their celebrations. He concluded by proclaiming, 'Global invincibility is now on the rise!'
