Invincibility measured in positive headlines

Since 20 March 2006, The Ideal Society Index Group has been monitoring world press headlines for signs of growing peace and tracking the level of positivity mathematically. In the course of the year, the index has risen from predominantly negative news to predominantly positive news. What is particularly interesting is that the index corresponds very closely with the precise rise and fall of numbers of Yogic Flyers on the Invincible America assembly.

On 23 July 2006, the Invincible America assembly began with 1,000 Yogic Flyers in Fairfield, IA ,and 120 in Washington, DC, and soon grew to reach the target Super Radiance number for the US—1733 (the square root of one per cent of the population). The chart shows how the index fluctuated, corresponding to the periodic rise and fall in the number of Invincible America assembly participants for various reasons during the assembly.

For example, the chart shows that one week after hundreds of Maharishi Vedic Pandits from India arrived to bolster the coherence-creating effect of the community through their group practice of Yogic Flying, in addition to special Vedic performances—a much anticipated change in direction for the struggling US government occurred in the Democratic takeover of the House and Senate, resulting in national headlines of hope and joy.

Then on 28 November, the Super Radiance number for the US, 1733, was exceeded for the first time. Strikingly, the following day was the first during the study in which there were no negative news items.

Dr Swan noted that the data analysts are not able to see the Yogic Flying numbers before computing their data. The Super Radiance totals are not posted until several days after, so first the Index score is computed, and only after some a few days is it possible to see whether the Yogic Flying numbers were up or down that day.

Overall, the rating of today compared with a year ago is significantly more positive; a year ago it was -31 and this year it is 9. Through the Ideal Society Index, we can see the trend growing in the direction of a positive, peaceful, progressive world. This means positive articles are actually outweighing negative ones by one more positive article per day.

This is real evidence, Dr Swan said, that the world is changing for the better, and Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's Invincibility courses all over the world are truly having a purifying, nourishing effect on world consciousness.
