Inaugural conference of Global Union of Scientists for Peace
The M.U.M. Review Translate This Article
8 February 2006
Top scientists from around the world joined Dr. John Hagelin last month for the inaugural cyber-conference of the Global Union of Scientists for Peace, exploring how groups of Yogic Flyers can create peace throughout the world.
Dr. Hagelin, international director of the Global Union of Scientists for Peace and director of the Institute of Science, Technology and Public Policy at Maharishi University of Management, addressed the participating scientists via phone conference and Internet webcast.
The conference was the culmination of six months of contacts with scientists subsequent to the founding of the Global Union of Scientists for Peace last July. Scientists from around the world have agreed to participate.
Dr. Hagelin presented an overview of the principles underlying this new approach to peace, including the discovery of a unified field by physicists, the nature of the unified field of consciousness, the impact of experience of the unified field in improving brain functioning, the promise of Consciousness-Based(SM) education, and how large groups of peace-creating experts practicing the Transcendental Meditation and TM-Sidhi© programs can create world peace.
Dr. Hagelin also reviewed the scientific research related to this proven method for creating peace.
The Global Union of Scientists for Peace was founded to stop the threat of nuclear proliferation, war, and terrorism by establishing large peace-creating groups in every nation.
A brochure entitled 'Nuclear Alert' has been sent to interested scientists that describes the threat of nuclear proliferation, talks about the need for a new approach, and presents the scientific foundation for a unified field-based approach to peace.
The brochure concludes by describing the Global Union of Scientists for Peace as a 'powerful, international non-governmental organization composed of leading scientists and policy experts who are committed to peace and who have the actual capability to achieve peace and national security on a scientific basis.'
